Everyday Coffee - A Balanced Cup

  • Lark Song

Sourced from the Dominican Republic, Lark Song is a light-medium roast made from Red Caturra beans using the Red honey process. It offers a smooth chocolatey body with juicy, fruity acidity, sugarcane sweetness, creating a bright, balanced, and flavorful cup. Lark Song coffee also won the Golden Bean 2022 Bronze Medal for quality.

  • The First Light

Looking for coffee that has been grown in the best conditions? You should try this one!! Between 1,900 and 2,100 meters above sea level, in Guji, Ethiopia, it is grown. With rare varieties and natural processing, it has a medium sweetness, a medium to high body, controlled acidity, and a slight bitterness. First Light coffee can be brewed with multiple methods: French press, as an espresso, or a bright Pour-over.

Fruity, Sweet, Unexpected

  • Sun Kissed Siesta

Sun Kissed Siesta belongs in our unique line because we produced just 31 bags. It is from the Jinotega region of Nicaragua and uses Red and Yellow Caturra and Catuai coffee beans. It has been light roasted. The profile has honey and a baklava sweetness, with a tropical mango kiss.

  • The Moose Musing

A 120-hour dry Fermentation process is employed to enhance the flavors of sweetness in The Moose Musing. This light roast Wush Wush, made from Ethiopian heirloom varieties, has a robust, fruit-forward taste with notes of sangria, along with floral notes and a sweet finish. This coffee is from Mesfin Girma in the SNNP region of Ethiopia.

  • Humble Hum

Humble Hum gets its taste from a mix of Honey Processing and Carbonic Maceration. Controlled fermentation adds layers of flavor that are full of expression. This light roast has hints of chocolate, jasmine, and flowers, and then it gets rich like wine and ends with a slight citrus flavor. It comes from a rare Java varietal micro-lot at El Vergel Estate in Tolima, Colombia, near the El Ruiz mountain. This makes it even more unique.

Delicate, Tea-like, Floral

  • Mountain Mist

Processed with Yellow Honey method, Mountain Mist is made from Geisha varietals to offer a sophisticated flavor profile. This light roast offers floral notes of jasmine and rose water, with a fruit juice-like flavor profile.

With a short fermentation of mandarin peel, this coffee is further enhanced with fruit notes, providing a more distinct flavor profile. This coffee was awarded a Silver Medal in Golden Bean 2022, showing careful processing and attention to detail from its Tolima, Colombia origin.

Understanding Single Origin Coffee Beans

There is only one location where single-origin beans come from, like a single farm, estate, or region. Not a single bean is mixed in from a different region than this one location.

This type of coffee is a real reflection of the soil, altitude, temperature, and process used in that particular region where the coffee is grown. This has a direct impact on the smell and taste, which is unique for that particular region.

Traceable means that single-origin coffee is traceable back to a particular farm or seller. As this is harvested at a particular time of year, the taste might differ slightly with every batch.

What makes single-origin coffee beans unique and premium?

Quality Selection and Defect Removal

Single-origin beans are carefully picked and sorted by hand to eliminate defective beans, such as those that are damaged or haven't matured. This produces a much more consistent and high-level cup of coffee.

Smaller Production Runs than Commercial Blends

The majority of the time spent growing, harvesting, and handling these products is more focused when done in smaller quantities, such as our Sun Kissed Siesta, which has only 31 bags per order. All of this focus yields a better quality product.

Elevated Quality Expectations

Many origins have met the standards required for defining "specialty", meaning they have been evaluated by an external expert for flavor, aroma, acidity, and overall balance. We choose the highest-scoring beans, helping to provide the best possible experience for consumers.

Choosing Varieties

We choose only those varieties of coffee that are considered refined and produce distinct flavors.

Fresh Crop Availability

Single-origin coffee is typically released immediately after harvest. This helps maintain the natural coffee aroma, oils, and flavor, making for a fresh and vibrant coffee experience.

Does the taste of single-origin coffee change depending on the quality of the water?

Yes, using filtered or mineral-balanced water brings out the real flavor of traditional coffee, whereas hard or chlorinated water might dull it.

How Should Single-Origin Coffee Be Stored To Maintain Freshness?

Store beans in an airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture. Avoid refrigeration, as it can introduce unwanted moisture and odors.

Does Water Quality Affect The Taste Of Single-Origin Coffee?

What Is The Ideal Coffee-To-Water Ratio For Single-Origin Coffee?

A common starting point is 1:15 to 1:18 (coffee to water), but slight adjustments help fine-tune strength and flavor.
