The Magic

It's a Nanolot - Only 9.2 plants of Java El Eden were planted in 2016.

Born in Tolima, Colombia, we roast this Heirloom varietal, Light to extract the Wine like acidity woven with notes of Jasmine and Chocolate.

This Java is a very rare variety in Colombia, and in this case, it is a coffee located facing the snowy mountain "El Ruiz" and is part of a micro-lot from El Vergel Estate. Planted in 2016 with a quantity of 9.200 plants, this micro lot has been one of the most exotic of the estate developing totally unique profiles.

Imagine a story whispered by the mists of the Colombian highlands, where a humble coffee bean, a bean from Java El Eden, dreamed of flight. It absorbed the sun's warmth and the earth's secrets, and in time, it learned to hum with a quiet energy. This is Humble Hum.

As it is brewed, the air fills with the deep, comforting scent of chocolate, a memory of the rich, dark soil from which it came. But there's a delicate spirit within, a chorus of floral notes and the intoxicating perfume of jasmine, like a hidden garden unfurling with the first light of dawn.

Then, the true song begins. A bold, wine-like richness emerges, a celebration of its journey through the clouds and rain. This is followed by a sprightly, bright finish—a sparkling, citric acidity that feels like the first, joyful hum of a hummingbird dancing through the flowers. Humble Hum is not just a coffee; it is a sip of a forgotten melody, a taste of nature's simple, exquisite whimsy.

Meet the Producers

Vergel Estate
Back in 1995, the Bayter Family rolled up their sleeves and dove headfirst into the agricultural scene at El Vergel farm. Avocado was their main squeeze, but when avocado prices took a nosedive in 2006, they knew it was time to shake things up. So, they tossed some coffee varieties into the mix – catimore, red, yellow caturra – and boom, a coffee empire was born!

Fast forward to 2016, and with a little guidance from coffee guru Miguel Jimenez, they planted specialty coffee varieties, setting the stage for some serious coffee greatness. Then, in a stroke of genius, they embraced natural coffee processes in 2018, tinkering with fermentation control like mad scientists in a lab. And let's not forget their claim to fame – the Koji fermentation process, a game-changer in the green coffee game!

Now, meet the dynamic trio behind the scenes: Martha Montenegro, along with her coffee-savvy partners Elias and Shady. Together, they're not just brewing coffee; they're brewing up a whole community revolution! Their mission? To blend tech magic with coffee passion and sprinkle a little extra joy into the lives of everyone at El Vergel Estate.
